Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated. I was just "mostly dead" which is curable by pills apparently. But yea, I was a hospital ride away from a casket. Thank you to all who visited me this past week in the hospital.
This past weekend I was admitted to the hospital after fainting at the obgyn's office. I hadn't even gotten to the check in yet, I walked in and passed out at the door. (fortunately a good place to pass out, it seems) after an quick assessment and a temperature that was deadly to the baby I was whisked off to the hospital. Where it was discovered that the baby had no heart beat and my organs were malfunctioning. It seemed I was sick for reals.
My liver was not working correctly, my blood sugar crashed, potassium, magnesium, and anemia. The doctors acted fast. The baby first, and then once the baby was confirmed fine and had a confirmed strong heartbeat. They started working on my liver and gall bladder. They swept me from room to room and soon I was settled in a private room upstairs. The doctors were stumped, what had caused this? In a real life adventure very much like a live taping of HOUSE, there was a dry erase board erected with my symptoms and doctors and nurses as well as students of the medical profession were encouraged to come visit me and try to figure it out.
they kept me stable, poked me full of IV's and gave me MRI's, x-rays, and all kinds of procedures.
Finally one doctor asked me about my "pets". It seems my liver had a rare and very complex viral infection, they gave me meds to see if he was right. I was so ill afterwards that I cracked a rib emptying my belly orally. Now I had even more trouble.
I had a very serious bacterial infection that was (a it turned out) deadly.
After a week in the hospital they finally let me come home. Sadly we (me and the little one) aren't in the clear yet. We have more doctors visits and I am on bed rest at home for now, with my very own private nurse (my mom who works at the same hospital I was at) has agreed to sit by my side and take care of me and my child.
I hope you will all take a moment to thank God(or who ever you believe in) for sparing my baby, and I hope you will all take a moment to pray for his(?) safe arrival into this world. I love my baby so much, and Am hoping that all will soon be well again for a safe delivery.
